Someone is waiting to learn what you’re good at

Every exchange starts with a flyer

Post something you can teach, or ask for something you want to learn.

Offering

Soccer, from a varsity midfielder

First touch, passing under pressure, juggling. After school on the upper field.

Maya O. · 10th grade

Wanted

Someone to read my poems and be honest

I write a lot. I have no idea if any of it is good.

Maya O. · 10th grade

Wanted

Archery, from someone patient

I’ve never held a bow. Weekend mornings work best for me.

Ivy · 11th grade

Offering

Debate prep before your next tournament

Case writing, rebuttals, and how to stop talking so fast. Library, Tuesdays.

Leo · 11th grade

Two of these flyers are Maya’s, because most students teach one thing and learn another. Try tearing off a tab.

With credits, nobody needs a perfect match

Maya, Leo and Sarah each know something the other two want to learn. Pick a name to follow their lessons.

In six lessons, everyone learns what they came for. Sarah only knows writing, but teaching it to both of the others earns the credits she spends on guitar and cooking.

In their words

What counselors, a social worker, a parent and a student think about learning from peers.

“Sharing something you care about is powerful. Peer-to-peer [makes] teaching feel meaningful, learning feel fun, and both support mental well-being.”
Lauren GrayLicensed Clinical Social Worker, 13+ years with children, adolescents and families
“When support comes from someone walking the same path, it lands differently than when it comes from adults. Learning from peers lowers barriers.”
Megan BroderickHigh school Director of Counseling, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
“I love it! It’s just what our community needs.”
Stephanie Ramos, PhDHigh school Director of Teaching & Learning
“Non-academic skills build social confidence and balance. Kids need space to grow as people and time for them to be children too.”
Angie BoucherParent of high school students, former Big Sister mentor

Your skill is someone’s next lesson

The student pilot is invite-only for now, but schools and youth groups can partner with us to bring Conexus to their students.
